PROPOSALS FOR IRAM TELESCOPES
Winter 2021 Ratings

The IRAM program committee convened via Zoom on 18-20 October 2021 to evaluate the proposals submitted for the winter 2021/22 scheduling period. The discussions were organized in 2 panels which were chaired by Amelie Saintonge (University College London, United Kingdom) and Dmitry Semenov (MPIA, Heidelberg, Germany). The authors of each proposal will be informed by letter which will include comments issued by the committee if there are any. As usual, the proposals were classified A (accepted), B (backup), and C (rejected).

You have to login to highlight your proposals (PI or Co-I) in the tables below.

30m telescope Proposals

We received 90 proposals for the 30m telescope. The total requested telescope time amounts to 2992 hours. This includes 9 proposals requesting short-spacing observations in 168 hours. About 77% of the requested time is dedicated to Galactic science.

The highest rating "A" was given to 19 proposals, and 32 proposals were rated "B", i.e. were given backup status. The remaining proposals, although scientifically valuable in most cases, were rated "C". The individual ratings are listed in the table below. We plan to schedule all A-rated proposals on the telescope, although some with less time than requested. We expect that about half of the B-rated programs will actually be scheduled. The selection will take into account scientific merit, crowding in certain right ascension ranges, and general aspects of balance. Proposals rated "C" will not get telescope time.

The short spacing proposals will be scheduled on the 30m if they get observed with NOEMA.

NOEMA Interferometer Proposals

A total of 115 proposals were received for the interferometer, including 1 proposals submitted in the "Large Program" category.

Proposals rated A will be scheduled in priority. Further time, if it becomes available, will go to the B programs, taking into account scientific merit, crowding in certain right ascension ranges and general aspects of balance. However, due to the uncertainties in the development of the COVID-19 pandemic, there can be no guarantee that unfinished programs will automatically be carried over from the winter W21 semester to the following observing semester.

For proposals rated A or B which do not have an IRAM internal collaborator, please consult the list of local contacts.
